How can I turn whats becoming a media relationship to a real one?

Ok so me and my boyfriend started talking in November and he finally asked me out on December 19(He ended up doing it on a text because he says he couldnt find me that day in time to do it) I made him ask me out again in person when our christmas break ended because i was afraid it would become a media relationship... we talk in person but not as much as we text. We still havent even hugged, and im not mad i think its sweet hes shy, I just feel like he shouldnt be that shy around me now. Im not asking for pda or anything, i would just like for him to acknowledge me in the halls when we see each other and not pretend like he doesnt see me so it doesnt get awkward and we can jsut tlk to our friends. I really like him and im not wanting to break up with him.
