I've been getting letters from Emory..is that good or am i just on their mailing list?Also is Emory great?

i want to go to medical school after undergrad..also is it an extremely religiously affiliation Univ?they say things like "lets converse ...your possible future at Emory" or "lets keep this conversation up."
